About WIA

Who Are We?

We are women who realise and understand that women need to stand together,  support each other, hold each other accountable as they build themselves. We build  each other to become the better version of ourselves for the betterment of our families and our communities. We focus on a holistic woman and we are a one stop shop for the spiritual, mental, physical, financial and social development. We want every woman to dream and not be scared to chase their dreams with the help of God working through other women.

About Us

Woman of Impact Alliance (WOIA)

Woman of Impact Alliance (WOIA) is a programme that is designed to assist women in different areas of their lives. Women shoulder a lot of responsibility, which is often overwhelming. They raise their children with or without the help of the men who fathered the children. Father absenteeism is one of the major social ills that we face in South Africa. Only 31.7 per cent of Black children grow up with their fathers in the home. Multiple interventions are needed to ensure that this problem is mitigated. Around 56 per cent of Coloured children grow up with their fathers, 86 per cent of Indian children grow up with their fathers and 80 per cent of White children grow up with their fathers. South Africa has about 68.3 per cent of children who are faced with the problem of absent fathers. Of the children who are grow up in homes with absent fathers, about 33 per cent of them have suicidal ideation. Some of the mental health issues that we have in the country are a direct result of fathers who are not present and as a result, children feel a sense of abandonment.

Our Main

Purpose

Developing an alliance of Black women who will support each other in a holistic manner to ensure that women have a balanced life. They should pick each other up and be each other’s keeper. If we develop and grow a pool of such women, we will have achieved a lot in growing communities that are sound in the future and of children who will have the dream of contributing and adding value in our communities. We aim to unite women and get them to support each other in most areas of their lives and be there for each other. Our programme aims at assisting women to be more effective in their roles and more empowered to deal with the challenges they encounter as they nurture their children and families. WOIA assists and holds the hands of women as they take control of their lives and their future. We encourage self-care which includes taking care of their mental, physical, spiritual and emotional wellbeing as they take care of those who are closest to them. Our aim is moving from “what we know” and “doing what we know” and our motto, is “we are leaving no woman behind.”
